* Aanchal = extension of Sari. Look at images at wikipedia entry and notice a free hanging extension of clothing going over the shoulder of girls.
One can see that literal translation loses the poetic phrases of Urdu (a language of poetry)
I like these lines specifically:

They shine...
Why evenings fell asleep,
Nights became unbearable
Heart got extinguished,
Home got burned,
Don't know why,
Don't know why!
Again the Aanchal,
Of thoughts flew in the wind,
Don't know why,

So I will re-translate them according to me :) :
"Look, how hands are empty with fireflies, now no where they will shine
Why evenings became dull and sleepy, nights became long and unbearable
Heart lost the fire, my home got burnt,
I don't know why, I don't know why
Again my thoughts wander like the Aanchal flowing in the wind
I don't know why, I don't know why"
Again as one can see, they are not the greatest of lyrics... and if you listen to the song, it loses the "wow" factor - there are some pieces of guitar play here and there that sound good individually but overall song misses the impact. Still, nice song.
