The Economist: Fading lights in Mumbai

I still remember how these used to be the center of attraction - local city-centers where all would galvanize over weekends to refresh their moods and relationships. The speed with which these expensive multiplexes have taken root into the cities boggles my mind even after so many years. The newly rich middle class has taken out its rebellious anger over Hindi movies from 80's, and I guess old cinemas are just too old to give a damn about.
